Group Emotional Release, or Neo Collective Release, is a group therapeutic space to explore and process themes based on the needs dimension. We work with the 5 universal needs and how these link to the nervous system and the body.

This is a two-part series workshops, occurring every second Thursday of the month from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at Yama Studios, Glasgow, Scotland, and every third Thursday of the month online from 6:30 - 7:30 pm.

What is Group Emotional Release?

Neo Emotional Release (NER) is a somatic therapy approach that helps people process and release stuck emotional tension, often linked to trauma, by focusing on body sensations to find the root cause of physical or psychological issues in a safe guided place.

The in-person Group Emotional Release follows these same principles, but within the support of a group field. Working in a group often deepens the process, as shared presence, resonance, and collective regulation can help each participant access their emotional landscape with more safety and clarity.

This is a powerful way to experience somatic therapy in a group.

What Can I Expect from the Group Emotional Release Sessions?

What Will we Explore?

Each month, Lara explores a different theme:

- the core wounds that shape how you relate, protect, and express yourself in the world.

- emotions such as Grief, Shame, Anger, etc… ,

- specific psychosomatic symptoms e.g., gut issues, and more.

If you are interested to know about the theme of the month, you can reach out at lara@alkemycoaching.uk. This is a supportive group container where your experience is witnessed and worked with in a grounded way.

How will the In-person Session Look Like?

To begin, we take our time going through simple vocal practices that start to open the channels that hold emotion, and we touch into our shame boundary so we can understand where our system contracts.

We will then take time for the full emotional release part of the work, supported by music, breath, and movement.

We then shift into an integration process, sharing, art-based integration, and others, to help your body organise and make meaning of what surfaced.

How will the Integration Call Look Like and What if I Cannot Join?

The following week is our online integration call. This space allows you to share what surfaced, name any insights or emotions that continued unfolding, and understand the shifts happening within you. It’s also a chance to explore how to move forward with more clarity and integrate the insights you gained from the in-person session. You’re welcome to bring questions, reflections, or anything that still feels unfinished. The call lasts one hour.

This call is offered for those who feel they need the support. You’re free not to join, though most people find it deeply beneficial.

You are invited to participate in a way that feels right for your body and your capacity. You get to choose how deep you go, and how gentle you need to be. How deeply to share, or how little…

All participants who have joined have mentioned how powerful it was to be part of the community when navigating big themes, to be witnessed and witness others, and to receive and offer support to one another.

How Can I Prepare for this Workshop?

The structure of this workshop follows the same arc Lara uses with her private clients.

Before we meet for the first session:

- you will receive a short survey to complete before the day of the session.

- ⁠you will also receive a meditation to practice daily before our in-person session.

- you will also receive a short video explaining the different needs dimension.

This is why, the sooner you book, the more time you give yourself to prepare for this process.

We recommend you complete your booking at least two days before the in-person session to give yourself the time to complete the survey and practice the meditation.

Timings and Dates

Part 1:The second Thursday of the month is for the in-person session (2 hours) and will be held at Yama Studios from 6:30pm until 8:30 pm.

Part 2:The integration call takes place one week after the in-person session on Thursday. It is a 1-hour call and will be held online, from 6:30 until 7:30pm.

    What felt most powerful to me was revisiting a specific trauma where I felt I had no control of that situation. That trauma left me feeling violated and ashamed and silenced.

    It was powerful to revisit this memory with safety and to express the sadness of that trauma rather than just talk about it (I've visited it before in other spaces) but I feel I was resisting really letting myself go.

  • Yes. Group Emotional Release is supportive for working with trauma-related experiences, as the process allows emotions and body-held memories to be expressed and processed in a safe, structured environment.

    Participants are always invited to go at their own pace, with an emphasis on gentleness and choice throughout.

    Before attending, all participants complete a screening questionnaire. Based on this, I assess whether the group setting is appropriate for your current needs, or whether a different level of support may be more suitable.

    The work is approached with careful titration, meaning you are never pushed beyond what feels manageable, and you are encouraged to stay within your own window of tolerance at all times. You are always free to pause, soften, or step back from the process as needed.

  • Each group includes additional layers of support. A temporary WhatsApp group is created for participants to stay connected, share reflections, and integrate their experience with others between sessions.

    We also hold an integration call, where participants can share what is emerging for them and receive guidance and support from Lara. This space helps you process the experience more fully and feel held as you integrate what has come up.

    If additional support is required, 1:1 sessions can be offered as a more personalised container to work more deeply and safely.

  • Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. This is because a significant amount of preparation goes into each session, including reviewing each individual participant’s screening survey to ensure appropriate group fit and support.

    This level of preparation is essential to holding a safe and well-supported space for everyone involved.
